Kristin Garcia, BS
Kristin Garcia, our Employee Health and Wellness Manager, is excited to offer her experience and resources to the City of Mesa’s Health and Wellness efforts for employees and their families. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from San Diego State University and is a Certified Personal Trainer. She has over 20 years of experience in the Health and Wellness field with an emphasis in Disease Prevention through Weight Management, Exercise, and Nutrition. Kristin got her start as a Patient Educator and Certified Wellness Coach and has gained experience in the Wellness field in both Management and Training and Development. Kristin discovered her passion is to help people change behavior using a personalized holistic approach to ensure long term success through lifestyle changes. Her lifelong dedication to her own health and well being includes, golf, hiking, paddle boarding, weight training, meditation and quality time with family and friends.
Cassandra Coonts, BS, CHES
Cassandra Coonts, Health Educator, grew up in and is a current resident of Mesa. She is proud to have worked for the City of Mesa since 2017. She enjoys motivating and inspiring employees to make lasting lifestyle changes. Cassandra is an Am I Hungry? Program Facilitator and loves sharing the gift of mindful eating with the world. She graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Exercise and Wellness, with a concentration in Health Promotion. She has also worked in Corporate Health and Wellness. She truly has a passion for helping others and living a healthy way of life. Cassandra enjoys being a mom to three beautiful, energetic kids. They love going to the park, playing games, watching movies, and simply spending time together. Family means everything.
Hannah Scherer, M.Ed.
Hannah Scherer grew up in Southern Germany and moved to the Valley in 2018. Hannah has a Master of Education degree and is a licensed Am I Hungry?® Mindful Eating Facilitator. As a former Teacher and Dean of Students, her passion lies in the world of education. She is thrilled to be part of the Employee Health and Wellness Team and is committed to use her experience to engage, encourage, and empower City of Mesa employees and families to choose a healthy lifestyle. In her free time, you can find her walking her pup, training for half-marathons, playing soccer, paddle boarding, baking, and spending time with her husband and friends.
